All Maine units are manufactured in the UK and they will be exhibiting on stand 3 at this years Manchester Open. We spoke with their General Manager, Adrian Cook who gave us an insight into what their predictions for the future of workplace interiors are and what they will be exhibiting at this years event. So Adrian, What are you most looking forward to showcasing at the Manchester Open?
We are looking to show our frame system and hybrid units which are manufactured using alternative materials.
What are your predictions for the future of design within workplace environments?
The continual decline in traditional storage of cupboard, file and pedestal units however increases in lockers and alternative storage units to be multi-functional. Units to have multi uses within its life cycle and to be more environmental friendly. Rise in types of storage that enable the open plan office to be broken up and structured but at the same time keeping some of the openness about them.
What is exciting you about design in the north at the moment?
The exciting thing about design is the willingness to try new concepts and not to just accept what’s coming out of London.
What do you love most about your industry?
I love most about this industry is that there are lots of people all willing to try and do things differently and learn from the current project and implement these ideas into the next project they work on which keeps everything in constant flux and always changing and moving forwards.
